Last Call for Farouk – A Celebration of Life at Rattlesnake Club in Honor of Famed Bartender

Longtime restaurant regulars and well-known alumni of some of Detroit’s most iconic restaurants were invited to raise a glass, reminisce and swap stories about Detroit’s most beloved bartender, Farouk Elhaje, at a “Last Call for Farouk” celebration of life at the Rattlesnake Club on Thursday, March 22. Some 200 people came out to celebrate Elhaje, 80, died on March 2, 2018. Over the course of his 58-year career in the restaurant and bar industry, many appreciated his bartending prowess as well as the fascinating stories about his famous clientele, including Barbra Streisand, Walter Cronkite, Lee Iacocca, President George W. Bush, Detroit Mayor Coleman Young and many others.
