The Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Michigan Chapter’s annual Chocolate Jubilee, now in its 34th year, has long been recognized as one of the premier fundraising events in the community. This year we are honored to have Daniel J. Loepp, President and CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, serving as the Event Chair.
Currently, there are over 5.7 million Americans struggling with Alzheimer’s disease. That number is expected to triple by 2050 unless a cure or effective treatment is found. Thanks to the generosity of Audrey & William* Farber in underwriting the Chocolate Jubilee, 100% of funds raised will directly provide critical support for the Association’s programs and services.

It’s A Village Foundation (IAVF), is a non profit organization organized in 2017 in response to the growing need for community intervention.
The Red Dress and Red Tie Gala is our grand event of the year that allows us to raise funds for scholarship, social causes and community endeavors. Last year we raised almost over $2000.00 for the hurricane relief victims.
The fundraising Gala this year will start raising money for the Curtis Smith, Sr. Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to those who attend 4 year colleges/universities, trade schools, specialty schools and community college.
Curtis Smith, Sr. was a father of 4 (3 daughters and one son). He himself was not able to attend college due to finances but he knew the importance of a college education and having a trade. He inlisted in the army right after high school and became a chef. He pursued education beyond high school when he got out of the army and got his Realtor and Appraiser licenses. He encouraged his four children to get their degrees and to his honor they’ve received 4 Bachelors, 1 master and 1 doctorate.
We now honor his memory by helping those who are pursuing careers in trades, licensures and entry level professional skills.
The first scholarship will be awarded in Fall 2020.
Our musical guest is the “Dreams Deferred” band and there will be a silent auction. Tickets are $75 each, or $140 per couple. The venue is the Regency Manor in Southfield and there will be food, a premium bar, and valet. A portion of your ticket is tax deductible. This really is a party with a purpose! Get your tickets today!
